Scholarships for 2025

A big thank you to our wonderful donors and supporters for making a difference in the lives of underprivileged children in Guatemala by supporting the El Lustrador Foundation (ELF). Our mission is to provide education and help maintain schools to create a nurturing environment that encourages these children to attend classes.

ELF's dedication extends to the community living near the Guatemala City basurero (landfill) in Zone 3, where families make a living by scavenging at the landfill. We are proud to support the students at 2 Schools near the landfill, along with the children receiving education at Las Guacamayas School in Morazan, El Progreso, Guatemala.

A special shoutout to the compassionate members of ELF's Board of Directors - René, Linnea, Eddie, Don, René Jr., and Dexter, for their unwavering commitment and generosity.

President Rene Corado's recent visit to Guatemala in February was truly touching as he personally handed out scholarships to the deserving children. During his visit, he provided school supplies to all students of Las Guacamayas school and at this time he brought all the students to the campus of Uiversidad de San Carlos de Guatemala in the Department of El Progreso to show them that higher education is possible.

In our continuous efforts to support education, ELF has also collaborated with the Biblioteca Paco Piñas in San Martin Jilotepeque Guatemala donating school supplies and sending the young voulunteers to a fieldtrip with transport and food paid. Also, we are buying school supplies for 100 children for Escuela El Zapote in San José Pinula Guatemala Department.

in addition, The Bilingual Teaching Team at Anacapa Middle School  invited our founder René Corado to participate in their Annual Bilingual Professional Interviews.  Each year they assemble a special team of diverse Spanish speaking community members to share with the middle schoolers their backgrounds, their educational journeys, present career, and the ways in which speaking Spanish benefits them in personal and professional lives.
